Governor Sanwo-olu of Lagos was the Special Guest of Honour at the 25th Convocation Ceremony of the Lagos State University, LASU on Thursday , where he promised to continuously create opportunities for youths in the state to have a befitting means of livelihoods.
Mr. Sanwo-olu in a Facebook post commended the institution’s management team for job well- done in taking LASU to enviable height from its humble beginning.
He said,
“I attended the convocation ceremony of Lagos State University today where I reminded the graduands, academics and guests of the history of the university.
“I was exceedingly happy that the school has sustained its established culture of excellence and quality tertiary education.
“LASU has evolved from its humble beginnings to attain a world-class status.
“The university has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1984. I congratulate the management team, staff, students and other members of the university community for continually striving for excellence.
“Feats achieved by today’s graduands are testimonies of LASU’s tenacity of purpose, teamwork and drive for innovation in teaching, learning and research, which are in line with the vision of the founding fathers of the university.
“We will continue to provide the enabling environment for our youths to engage in meaningful educational and economic activities to add value to themselves, while also contributing meaningfully to the rising profile of Lagos as the economic and industrial hub of Nigeria and Africa”.
