Calls on government to ensure that their daughter’s killers are brought to justice
The sister of the 18 year old girl, Sofiat Kehinde, who was murdered and beheaded by her boyfriend, together with three of his peers, has appealed to the Ogun State Government to ensure that Sofiat’s killers are made to pay for their crime.
Speaking to newsmen, the lady who simply identified herself as Okeowo however said that the diseased contributed to her death for refusing to take their advice to end her relationship with Soliu.
On January 29, Friday, Nigerians were angered by yet another sad news of Sofiat Kehinde, being murder by her boyfriend, Soliu Majekodunmi and three others for money ritual.
Soliu who is aged 21, had on 29th January, (Friday evening) reportedly lured her girlfriend to a house at Oke-Aregna, in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State, where him and his three friends cut off her head and burnt her skull in a local pot, in line with a money ritual guideline which they said they learnt on Facebook.
Soliu and the three other suspects, Wariz Oladehinde, 17 years, Abdul Gafar Lukman 19 years and Mustakeem Balogun 20 years, are now in police net.
While weeping over her sister’s unfortunate murder , Okeowo said, “We warned Sofiat to stop dating the boy who matcheted and roasted her head for money ritual, but she kept dating him secretly.”
She explained that before she was killed, Sofiat was learning tailoring , lamenting that her dream of becoming great has been cut short by greedy boys.
The mastermind of Sofiat’s murder, her boyfriend, Soliu Majekodunmi was said to had taken to his heels at the point that three of his friends that committed the crime with him , were arrested.
However, he was later arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, had given an update on the killing of a girl identified, saying the leader of the gang has been arrested.
Oyeyemi confirmed that four teenagers had slaughtered and burnt the skull of Rofia after her boyfriend, Soliu, lured her to his house in Oke-Aregna.
Reports had it that a community security guard, one Segun Adewusi had observed that some boys were burning something suspicious in a local pot.
The security guard immediately alerted the police at Adatan station, who went to the scene and arrested three of the boys while Soliu, the leader of the gang had fled before police arrived.
The slain girl was a resident of Idi-Ape Abeokuta.
Confirming further the incident in an interview with Daily Trust, a source in the community explained”
“They killed Rofiat, cut her head, packed the headless body in a sack and started burning the head in a pot. They told the police in the presence of a mammoth crowd that they wanted to use it for money ritual”
