Why I Released A Song On Teenage Pregnancy–#Loisbest

A Dubai-based Nigerian artiste, Segun Odusami whose stage name is #Loisbest, on Monday released a single tagged, “#CHINASA” which x-rays the dangers of teenage pregnancy and how to contain its alarming rate in Nigeria.

The single was released during an anti-teenage pregnancy conference in Ikorodu, Lagos with the theme,” “Say no to teenage pregnancy”. It was put together by a non-governmental organisation “Odusa Foundation” in line with it’s mandate to help Nigerian teenagers live a purposeful life and achieve their lifelong ambitions.

Speaking at the occasion,
Loisbest explained that he composed the single to amplify the challenges faced by teenagers particularly that of unwanted pregnancy with a view to gathering public support to nip the problem on the board.

The song came from the stable of the foundation, floated by the musician to tackle teenage pregnancy.

According to him, “I have released a single tagged CHINASA believing there is a CHINASA in every family. That’s the vulnerable teenager that is susceptible to making mistakes, particularly having teenage pregnancy.

” So we move to help our country more towards solving this problem. We need to go to secondary schools, catch them young and put them in the proper direction”, he clarified.

Loisbest highlighted that the release of CHINASA was in the series of several activities by the foundation towards championing the course of better life for teenagers.

He said, “The Odusa Foundation organised a conference on ending pregnancies among teenagers. This is not the first time that we would be doing something for teenagers. It is on record with the Nigeria in Diaspora Commission, that Odusa Foundation in 2019 facilitated the safe return of a teenager from Dubai after she was taken there for prostitution. We constituted a team to rescue the lady and we gave her a ticket back to Nigeria to reunite with her family. Furthermore, we bought her a JAMB form.

“Odusa Foundation is working towards helping teenagers to shape their future, to help them achieve their lifelong ambitions. Apart from the complications of having teenage pregnancy, this trend can affect their education. So we look forward to having support from the public, well meaning Nigerians, Government and private establishments. This is what we need at this time, particularly in our country. We intend to help young ones to enable them thrive in all of their endeavours”, he reiterated.
