SOUTHWEST PCRC MOURNS, COMMISERATES WITH NIGERIA POLICE FORCE

The leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Southwest Geopolitical Zone led by the National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan has described as shocking, the news of the death of the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department and the Supervisory DIG in charge of the South – East, DIG Joseph Obiajulu Egbunike, PhD, ACTI, mnin, FCNA which according to a release from the Ag. Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, occured at about 9pm of Tuesday March 8, 2022 at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a brief illness.
While condoling with the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, family members and friends of the deceased DIG, Members and Executives of PCRC in the South – East Geopolitical Zone and the Nigeria Police Force in general, the NVC Southwest and the Chairman, National Capacity Building Committee on behalf of the National Chairman, Ambassador Dr Farouk Abdulahi Maiyama PhD (Yariman Jega) prayed for the repose of the soul of DIG Egbunike and asked Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
The late DIG according to the Force Spokesperson, was a dedicated and seasoned Police Officer who served the Nation in various capacities. He was also described as an officer with finesse and commitment to intellectual development and was instrumental to the achievements of the giant strides within the Police architecture.
He will be remembered for his service to his fatherland, Nigeria, a duty he meaningfully embraced till his last breath.
