Aviation Workers Advised On Self Development For Efficiency

Workers in the aviation industry have been advised to develop and improve themselves in the area of information technology to fit into the new personnel automation system soon to be introduced by the government.

At a sensitization programme in Lagos for union leaders in the industry with the theme: ‘Workers as Strategic Partners in Driving the Personnel Automation Management System’, the Chairman Joint Consultative and Negotiating Council (JCNC) Comrade Hector Nnadi said the sensitization programme became necessary to acquaint members of their expected role before the implementation of the automation system.

He explained that similar programme had been held in different parts of the country to ensure that workers were fully aware of the new order in the personnel department in the various agencies.

“Personnel automation system to me, is not something new its already in there and it’s something that is going to unfold in details. The point is get ready for this automation and flow with it”

According to him, the era of union leaders banging tables were over, adding that unions ought to add value to the system as critical stakeholders and to carry workers along, brief them on government plans to avoid them being caught unawares.

Also speaking, Secretary JCNC, Comrade Abubakar Sadiq urged workers to embrace the new order in their work environment as technology had changed the way everything is done.
