EFCC Slams Corruption Charges Against Rochas Okorocha

What About Tinubu?, So Nigerians Are Asking

Rochas

The urgency of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in slamming fresh corruption charges against Senator Rochas Okorocha, same day that he made public his presidential ambition, has been quarried by Nigerians.

Okorocha, former Governor of Imo State and a serving senator, on Monday at a ceremony in Abuja, declared his intention to contest for the post of President in next year’s general election.

But just as he stepped out of the event venue, he was notified of a fresh corruption charge against him by EFCC.

This did not go down well with some Nigerians, who queried why the anti corruption agency should be that quick in going after Okorocha, while others with equally similar cases were spared simply because they are in the good book of the ruling party.

For instance, they alleged that APC leader Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu whose company Alpha Beta has been in the middle of tax fraud , among other irregularities, has never been so charged by the EFCC.

Instead, the ruling government and presidency are preparing him to take over from President Buhari in 2023.

These concerned Nigerians made known their anger in several posts on social media.
