NCF DG SPEAKS ON COMBATING CLIMATE CHANGE & BIODIVERSITY LOSS IN NIGERIA

Ahead of the 21st Chief Lawal Edu Memorial lecture which is one of the biggest annual events by the Nigerian Foundation Foundation, NCF, the Director General of the foundation, Dr. Joseph Onoja spoke with correspondent Innocent Onoh on the Twin crises of Climate Change and Biodiversity loss, which is the focus of the lecture.

The lecture holds on the 9th of May, 2023 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island , Lagos.

Dr. Onoja who described Climate Change and Biodiversity loss as two sides of the coin with one exacerbating the other, said the two are humanity’s biggest and worst environmental disasters and that the foundation has been fighting the scourge head-on in Nigeria through partnerships with myriads of institutions including governments and the private sectors to implement sustainability efforts.

He specifically expressed determination to work even more closely and strategically with the newly elected government in the country in championing the course, even as he tasked the incoming government with the enforcement of laws as they affect climate change and biodiversity loss.
