
A popular Radio Presenter, popularly called ” Baba Bintin” has become the next casualty of the bitting cash crunch in Nigeria, following the policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria , CBN, with support from President Mohammadu Buhari to redesign the higher denominations of the nation’s currency, Naira.
He was the co-host of a popular radio show Oyin Ado on Fresh FM, 105.9 Ibadan.
Baba Bintin was said to had collapsed on his way to the station for the morning’s edition of the Programme.
His co-presenters, Olalomi Amole and Komolafe Olaiya while waiting for him to appear on the show, had announced that the deceased was unusually late, not knowing the man had passed away while walking from his home in Amuloko to Fresh FM at Challenge with the hopes of locating a Point Of Sale, POS agent to get cash, for transportation.
According to an eyewitness, the late Presenter, after being discovered to had slumped was hurriedly taken by the authorities to the University College Hospital, where he passed away.
Baba Bintin was a comical presenter on the Oyin Ado show every Saturday on the Radio Station to provide updates on local markets in the state.
He typically spoke Ijesha dialect and was frequently addressed as “Boda Olu” or “Uncle” by one of the co-hosts, Komolafe Olaiya.
