
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the National Orientation Agency NOA, have expressed satisfaction with compliance by the people in Kebbi state over the new naira notes.
The CBN Controller for Kebbi state, Dantsoho Abdullahi who stated this in an interview with newsmen while on streets walk sensitization in Birnin Kebbi metropolis and environs said, the earlier sensitization to markets and public places made by the CBN has yielded positive impact on the public over the new redesigned notes.
According to him, there were several complaint by the people which has come to the notice of the apex bank.
He advised people to deposit their money into banks no matter the amount saying, it is free as no charges would be made on any deposit made by customer in any bank.
Abdullahi however, called on traders not to reject the old notes untill affter the date line of 31 of January 2023 because it is an offence for anyone to reject the old notes before the date line.
Equally, Kebbi state Director of the National Orientation Agency NOA, Joshep Yaro, applauded the courage of the people for taking the old notes to the banks for deposit in compliance with the CBN directive of the dateline of 31 January 2023.
He also warned against rumour that, the tenue would be extended saying, the tenure will not be extended.
