Ministry Trains Federal Workers On Financial Literacy

The Federal Ministry of Finance, has announced its plan to train 12,000 federal government employees on financial literacy.

This is part of efforts to reduce the rate of financial hardship among workers and for them to contribute more to the growth of the nation’s economy.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr. Zainab Shansuna who announced this believed that the move would also help to sustain inclusive economic growth.

She was speaking at the inauguration of the Service Wide Financial Literacy in the Workplace Programme on Financial Inclusion, in Abuja.

The Minister who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Finance Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Aliyu Ahmed, stated that the initiative was still at the pilot stage and that the Ministry intended to extend it to other Ministries, Departments and Agencies by January, 2023.
