Rotarian Kukoyi Emerges As District 9111 Governor-Nominee Designate

Dr. Oluwole Kukoyi of Rotary Club of Ota has become the chosen one to act as the District 9111 Governor Nominee Designate for 2024-2025.

“In accordance with Rotary International Bylaws, Article 12.030.5 on Notification of Nomination, I now publish the name and Club of the nominee as Rotarian Kukoyi of the Rotary Club of Ota”, says a letter to all members which was endorsed by the leadership of the District.

The leaders as seen on the letter-headed paper are Omotunde Lawson, District Governor-elect; Ifeyinwa Ejezie, District Governor-nominee; Ehi Braimah, District Secretary and Wale Adegbite, District Treasurer.

Rotarian Kukoyi was unanimously nominated to become the Governor nominee of District 9111 in a process that was publicized.

The letter reads in part “Further to my letter of 11th April,2022 calling for nomination-District 9111 Governor 2024-2025, I am pleased to report that the Nominating Committee received six (6) nominations at close of work on Monday,16th May,2022 as follows;

  1. 1. Rotary Club of Abeokuta nominating Rotarian Akin Akinlabi
  2. 2. Rotary Club of Lagos-Palmgrove Estate nominating Ramesh Biswal
  3. 3.Rotary Club of Ota nominating Rotarian Oluwole Kukoyi
  4. 4. Rotary Club of Maryland, Ikeja nominating Rotarian Henry Akinyele
  5. 5. Rotary Club of Omole Golden nominating Rotarian Samuel Ayetutu
  6. 6. Rotary Club of Ikeja South nominating Rotarian Julius S.O. Nwokoro

The nomination were reviewed and and interview conducted by the Nominating Committee. In a unanimous decision, the committee selected Rotarian Oluwole Kukoyi of the Rotary Club of Ota as the best qualified and suitable candidate for the position of District 9111 Governor 2024-2025″.

The District emphasized the need for the Governor nominee to operate in accordance with the Rotary International Bylaws.

“Any Club in the District in existence for at least one year as of the beginning of that year may also propose a challenging candidate for Governor-Nominee , but only if it previously suggested the candidate to the Nominating Committee. A Club in existence for less than one year as of the beginning of that year may propose a challenging candidate if the candidate is a member of that Club and was already suggested to the Nominating Committee…
