Nigeria Hosts Aviation DGs From Africa & India

Directors-General of Civil Aviation Authorities in the African Indian Ocean Member States and other global experts are converging on Abuja to brainstorm on the progress made in implementing the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) global and regional Plan.

Other issues to be deliberated on also include the enhancement of aviation performance in all ICAO strategic objectives, key priorities for the coming years, COVID-19 aviation recovery and building back better and the outcome of the ICAO High-Level Conference on COVID – 19 (HLCC) 2021 amongst others.

In a statement by the spokesman for the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Mr. Sam Adurogboye, the event will be jointly hosted by the Federal Ministry of Aviation (FMA) in conjunction with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The global event which is seventh in its series will engage all participants in discussing important issues like progress made in implementing the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) global and regional Plan.

Others are, enhancement of aviation performance in all ICAO strategic objectives, key priorities for the coming years, COVID-19 aviation recovery and building back better and the outcome of the ICAO High-Level Conference on COVID – 19 (HLCC) 2021 amongst others.

The statement adds that, the event will avail Directors-General of Civil Aviation Authorities the opportunity to brainstorm and chart a course aimed at further developing the appropriate strategies and providing the necessary actions to support the enhancement of the aviation system in Africa.

Mr. Adurogboye says, highlight of the event will be the signing of Bilateral Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Nigeria and some notable countries.

The first day of the event is opened to the public after which the delegates will break into technical sessions.
