The absence of the convicted  kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans and his co- defendant, Joseph Emeka, have stalled their trials before an Ikeja Special Offences Court.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo who is presiding over the trial had queried one of the prison warders of Kirikiri Maximum Prison present in court why the defendants were absent.

The warder, who told the court that there was a clash in the date, added that they were given April 28 to appear before the court.

The state prosecutor, Mr Yusuf Sule, had informed the court that the prosecution witness, Chief Vincent Obianodo, whom the defendants allegedly kidnapped was ready to testify virtually (via the Zoom app)

Subsequently, the judge adjourned the case until May 6 for continuation of trial.
