The Young Christian Workers Movement Nigeria (YCWMN) is among the latest organisations introduced in the Catholic Church in Nigeria, but its speed in spreading and having more members is equal to none.
To further spread its ideology nationally, a delegation of the YCW has paid what it termed “mobilisation visit” to the Vicar General,Societal Formation , Abuja Archdiocese, VERY Reverend Father Roland Nwakpuna.
Aimed also at entrenching a closer and more cordial working relationship with the spiritual father, the visit was executed by some key figures of the association namely Comrades Solomon Okonkwo, Anagbor Emmanuel, Maris Obodo and Innocent Idoko.
A release from the Directorate YCW National Mobilization Department, signed by Robert Anthony says the visit took place at the Vica General’s office on 10th March, 2022 and that it was an opportunity to intimate him of the activities YCWMN.
According to the release, “The Very Reverend Father Rowland Nwakpuna is the Vicar In charge of Sociatal Formation and the Parish Priest of the Holy Cross Catholic Church- Gwarinpa. He received the relevant documents given the background of the Movement, aimed at deepening National spread.
“He thanked the Comrades: Able Solomon Okonkwo; Able Anagbor Emmanuel; Able Maris Obodo and Abel Innocent Idoko for their efforts to Christianize Abuja Diocese in the idealogy of the founder; hoping that it would challenge the social vices, injustices and corruption the young ones tend to overcome.
“By way of support, he requested the National Movement to submit it’s Constitution with an introductory letter for the Archbishop official consent.
“We sincerely thank our beloved brethren who deemed it necessary to make the day a memorable one”, the release concludes.
