Operatives Foil Planned Protest Over Murder Of Girl By BRT Driver

Lagos would have been boiling by now if not for the swift action by security operatives to thwart a protest by some Lagos residents against the murder of a BRT bus passenger, 22yr old Miss Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

The operatives were armed to the teeth had invaded the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota where they had planned to stage the protest.

The armed military personnel comprised a combined team of policemen, operatives of the DSS and other sister agents who took over the are to prevent any form of protest.

Though the protest did not hold, operations of the BRT have remained grounded across Lagos Metropolis.

Their terminals in most places have been placed under lock and key since yesterday.

Consequently, operators of commercial buses painted in yellow have capitalised on the situation by increasing transport fares ,with commuters now paying almost double of the normal fares.
